(Mali Health Organizing Project)

We are pleased to announce the new Executive Director for MHOP! Anna Ninan, a graduate of Brown University, promises to bring MHOP to new levels with her passion for health and her skills as a community organizer, social entrepreneur, and leader in social justice. Her international experience combined with her academic background in International Relations, African Studies, and Community Health, position her as a strong leader to continue MHOP's vision.

"Anna has an exceptional ability to pinpoint how to do best work possible, leveraging resources and creating social impact that ripples outside of our community in Mali. Her entrepreneurial spirit is an asset to our organization, and I am so thrilled to work with her." says Caitlin Cohen, MHOP's co-founder and outgoing Executive Director, who will be heading to medical school in August, but will remain involved as the Chair of the Board of Directors.

Anna has extensive experience working with health and HIV/AIDS initiatives with CARE in Ecuador, a grassroots organization in India, and the Clinton Foundation in Ethiopia. In the US, she is the co-founder of Generation Citizen, an innovative school-based program to increase youth political engagement, and worked as an outreach coordinator for over seventy-five US college chapters of STAND, an anti-genocide student movement. We are confident that Anna's creativity, her experience with a wide-range of social justice initiatives, and her dedication to community work will make her a great leader for MHOP in the years to come.
