Every
three years when the new Community Health
Action Group is elected they undergo a two-week
intensive training covering the following
topics:
- Leadership, human rights, code of conduct,
group dynamics
- Project evaluation and sustainability
- Project design and implementation
- Grassroots organizing
- Basic biology and immunology
- Water quality
- Malaria and fevers
- Worm infections
- Respiratory problems, TB
- HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections
- Female Genital Cutting
- Family Planning
- Maternal and Child Health
- Nutrition
The trainings are taught
exclusively in Bambara by Malian
organizations. Primary partner
organizations:
- Malian Ministry of Health
- National Center for Education, Information,
and Health Communication (CNIECS)
- Association for the Support and Development
of Civil Society (ASDAP).
